HOMEMADE COUNTRY LICKS by Alice Franceschini

There are many great licks in country music but that don't mean there isn't room for new
and fresh licks. Here are a few of my licks (I'll be adding more) and you should start
making up your licks because music in today's world (2019) is really stale with all the
repeating of the established licks. I think you need to know those 'well used' licks, but be creative
with your own licks, especially the ones that are hard to play, play them so you can play them
comfortably and boom new lick is born.

How to read tabs- The ---- represents the guitar's 6 strings. High sounding E on top
Low sounding E on the bottom. E A D G B E are the open string names. The numbers
represent the frets and where you are to press on the string. (Tabs are the same
for any stringed instrument). h10 means to hammer on p10 means to pull off s10 means to slide
Bending the string is represented by a curved line with an arrow on the end to indicate
if you bend up or down. Trills or virbrato is represented by a straight zip zap line.

Licks can be played anyway you want, whatever tempo is up to you. This is why internet licks
or books of licks have sound files. Plus there is no good way to indicate timing on a tab. If notes
are in sets, spaces between the numbers indicated that. Lick 1 had sets, shown one way, Lick 3 is
showing another way. A set is played with a very short time between a group of numbers. Kind of sounds
hopping or bouncing.

Lick 3
Play A Part like a vamp to fit your timing on a backing track then
play the B Part. I play this as fast as I can cause it sounds best played fast.
